Frank R. Garcia, Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs of the US Department of State, announced a series of strategic trade agreements with the United States in the digital, health, education and logistics sectors, during a press conference at the US Embassy in Abidjan.
Assistant Secretary Garcia announced that the Export-Import Bank of the United States has approved a new financing guarantee for Cybastion to deploy a smart border surveillance system in Ivory Coast. This approval brings EXIM's total funding guarantees for Cybastion digital transformation projects in the country to $170 million, including support for a sovereign national data center and the digitalization of government services.
Cybastion CEO Dr. Thierry Wandji joined Ivorian and U.S. leaders at the press event, including Ivorian Minister Djibril Ouattara of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Technological Innovation, U.S. Charge d'affaires Junaid Munir, and executives of major U.S. companies including STARLINK, ABD Group, and NTELX.
At the event, Starlink representative Hanna Wetters announced that Starlink is now operational in Ivory Coast, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of digital connectivity across the country.
Through its Digital Fast Track platform, Cybastion integrates digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital solutions and workforce development to help governments build secure, resilient and sovereign digital ecosystems.
