Cybastion, in partnership with the US Embassy of Ivory Coast, officially launched the DigiEmpower Easter Break technology camp with a festive opening ceremony featuringAmerican Ambassador Jessica Davis BaAndThierry Wandji, CEO of Cybastion .
Participants in the opening ceremony also includedDr Patrick Fouda, Managing Partner of Cybastion for Education and Executive Director of the Theya FoundationDr Geneviève Fouda, and the foundation team.
Opened on April 17, the free technology camp will take place from April 22 to 24. The tech camps, held in five U.S. spaces across Ivory Coast, provide hands-on training on “Computer Hardware Basics,” “Intro to Cybersecurity,” and “Intro to IoT and Digitalization” through the Cisco Networking Academy. Students who successfully complete one or all courses will receive digital badges verified by Cisco.
With around 5 million digital jobs needed in Ivory Coast by 2030, DigiEmpower – a partnership between Cybastion, Cisco and the government of Ivory Coast – is an ambitious initiative that aims to train 200,000 young people and women across the country within five years.
