Senior U.S. and African government officials, senior executives from U.S. financial institutions and their African counterparts met on April 25 to explore concrete strategies to increase investment in the African digital ecosystem, particularly in the information and communications technology (ICT), energy and infrastructure sectors.

The closed-door roundtable proposed investment strategies aimed at deepening economic engagement between the United States and Africa through public-private partnerships and global development institutions like the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Investors have highlighted the growing urgency to finance infrastructure critical to Africa's digital transformation and energy transition, especially as demand for broadband access, data storage and energy security increases across the continent.
Key outcomes of the session included identifying high-potential investment opportunities in strategic sectors, developing risk mitigation strategies tailored to African markets, and showcasing innovative financing tools such as blended finance, public-private partnerships, and impact investing.
Participants also made policy recommendations aimed at improving regulatory frameworks to create a more conducive environment for private sector investments.
