Cybastion officially opened the Gabon office on January 27, during a launch event in Libreville, marking a strong commitment to advancing the country's bold vision for digital sovereignty and the launch ofAfrica DigiEmpower, an ambitious continent-wide digital workforce initiative.
Senior Gabonese officials and U.S. private sector leaders were present at the launch event.
Antonia Oliveira, Managing Director of the Gabon office, provided an overview of the company's digital transformation projects in Gabon and highlighted the digital training program's goal of equipping young Gabonese people with in-demand technology skills and a pathway to careers in the digital economy.
“This event marks more than a program launch. It reflects a deep conviction that human capital is the main infrastructure for digital development in Africa,” Oliveira said.
Anchored in a sovereign data center, Cybastion will carry out digital transformation projects through itsDigital Fast Track Programstrengthen Gabon’s digital infrastructure, improve national cybersecurity capacity and expand access to advanced digital solutions.
In Gabon, Africa DigiEmpower will offer free and accredited training throughCisco Networking Academy, including AI, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure and other in-demand technology areas.
Africa DigiEmpower is administered by theTHEYA Foundation, the philanthropic organization of Cybastion, in partnership with the National Agency for Digital Infrastructures and Frequencies (ANINF) of Gabon.
Alberto Mounguengui Moudoki, Managing Director ofANINF, highlighted the agency’s role and partnership in supporting the delivery of training programs and technology camps across the country.
During the event, Fatima Kourouma, Program Manager of THEYA Foundation, made a presentation on Africa DigiEmpower and announced the official opening of the registration site to allow participants to register for upcoming training programs.
