To accelerate access to electricity in rural communities, Cybastion and the Rural Electrification Agency of the Democratic Republic of Congo have signed a memorandum of understanding to launch a strategic partnership advancing rural electrification projects in the Central African country.
The agreement between Cybastion and the National Agency for Electrification and Energy Services in Rural and Peri-Urban Areas (ANSER) of the DRC was signed on February 27 in the capital, Kinshasa.
The MoU establishes a framework for technical and operational collaboration on the design, financial structuring and implementation of electrification projects, including solar projects. It is part of the Congolese government's vision to sustainably extend access to electricity and improve living conditions beyond large urban centers.
Under this partnership, Cybastion will conduct pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, develop technical and commercial proposals and support the mobilization of international financing, including through export credit agencies and major financial institutions.
ANSER will play a central role in identifying priority projects, coordinating with relevant institutions and supporting administrative procedures necessary to advance investments.
Once implemented, the projects are expected to strengthen national energy production capacity and advance the socio-economic development of rural communities.
This partnership is part of Cybastion’s bold approach to creating secure, resilient and sustainable digital ecosystems to accelerate Africa’s digital transformation.
