LIBREVILLE, GABON – January 28, 2025– Today, US technology company Cybastion and the government of Gabon signed a strategic investment agreement aimed at accelerating the development of digital infrastructure and equipping the country's workforce with world-class digital skills, positioning the central African nation as a globally competitive digital ecosystem.
The agreement formalizes a memorandum of understanding signed in early October during the U.S.-Gabon Investment Roundtable hosted by the U.S.-Africa Business Center of the American Chamber of Commerce. Through this agreement, Cybastion aims to strengthen Gabon's digital infrastructure through the installation of a data center, improve cybersecurity and expand access to advanced digital solutions, including digital identification.
The agreement was signed by Dr Thierry Wandji, CEO of Cybastion and Brigadier General Bonjean Rodrigue Mbanza, Gabonese Minister of the Digital Economy and New Information Technologies.
To meet the demand for a skilled digital workforce, Cybastion will launch the DigiEmpower Workforce Training Program (DigiEmpower) in Gabon. DigiEmpower, a partnership with Cisco, is an ambitious digital workforce initiative that aims to train more than 1,000 Gabonese youth and women for technology careers in the public and private sectors.
