In September 2022, the CYBASTION INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY sent a cohort of eight students to North Carolina State University to participate in cybersecurity training where they learn about fundamental concepts and design principles in cybersecurity. Next, they traveled to the Cybastion Institute office where they received training in forensic analysis and SCA, as well as SOC/CSIRT courses. Eventually, they were taken to Durham Technical Community College to participate in the 21st Century Workshop. Emphasis was placed on practical laboratory work and assessments using new tools and applications widely used in the field of cybersecurity.
Teams were challenged to identify the characteristics of a variety of attacks and incidents and, at the end of the training, were able to demonstrate that they had learned to work together to solve complex cybersecurity and incident response problems. These challenges included the latest techniques from Advanced Persistent Threat Groups. The team identified command and control communications and tunneling methods that are industry-leading.
Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate their understanding of the five key elements: Cybersecurity Foundations, Software Security, Hardware Security, Network Security, Incident Response and Digital Forensics, and demonstrate improved language skills and extensive progress in the particular areas.
