Registration is now open for the first cohort of the DigiEmpower Workforce Training Program (DigiEmpower), a free digital workforce training initiative launched by US technology companies Cybastion and Cisco, in collaboration with the government of Ivory Coast.
Officially launched in December 2024, DigiEmpower is an ambitious program designed to train 200,000 young people and women in 10 regions of Côte d'Ivoire by 2030, equipping them with the digital skills essential for the modern workforce.
The first cohort, in partnership with the Ivorian Ministry of Women, Family and Children, will run from February 17 to March 18, 2025. Online courses on the basics of cybersecurity and computer hardware, offered through the Cisco Networking Academy, will be available for an initial cohort of 3,000 participants. Additional online and in-person training sessions across the country will begin in March 2025.
The “Introduction to Cybersecurity” course will cover security fundamentals to protect digital assets. The “Computer Hardware Basics” course will provide essential knowledge about computer systems, mobile devices, and troubleshooting techniques.
Participants who complete the training will receive digital badges verified by Cisco, which can be added to their LinkedIn profiles and CVs to improve their employability in the government and private sectors.
