Ivorian former professional women's football players often face significant challenges when transitioning to a new career after retiring from the sport.
To resolve this issue,The NGO Servons C.I., in partnership with Cybastion, officially launched theElite Women’s Workshopsprogram(“Elite Women’s Workshop”) on March 11 at the Ivoire Trade Center in Abidjan. The initiative aims to provide cybersecurity and digital training, internships and job opportunities to young women in career transition.
Up to 200 former footballers will register for theIntroduction to Cybersecuritycourse, offered through theDigiEmpower Digital Workforce Trainingprogram: a partnership between Cybastion, Cisco and the government of Ivory Coast.
As African countries increasingly accelerate their digital transformation, the demand for qualified cybersecurity professionals is rapidly increasing. Training participants will earn an internationally recognized Cisco certification through the course and gain access to job opportunities in the digital sector.
In partnership with organizations like Madiawa, an NGO founded by Lamizata Fofana, an Ivorian advocate for women's participation in football in Ivory Coast, participants will also benefit from career development support and mentoring in their career transition.
The launch event served as an inspiring platform where participants engaged with technology sector leaders and gained knowledge and motivation to participate in the digital transformation of the country.
Registrations, which began on March 3, will remain open for six weeks to all women in Côte d’Ivoire.
